Brother Aidan Kilty is an Irish Brother from the present District of Ireland-GB-Malta. He was educated in England, obtaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He taught in England for 15 years, initially in the Formation Centre in Kintbury and then for 10 years in a secondary school in St Helens, in the North of England. From there he was appointed Novice Master and served in Novitiates in England, Ireland and Spain for 10 years. While involved in District formation, he was appointed by Brother John Johnston as Secretary for Formation with particular responsibility for English-speaking parts of the Institute. He served in that capacity during a 10-year period supporting formation programmes in different Regions of the Institute. On completion of his term as Secretary for Formation, he had a short sabbatical in England before accepting the invitation to support formation programmes in PARC in 2006. It was while he was engaged in that work, based in Singapore, that he was asked to return to his District to become the Brother Visitor of the District of Great Britain-Malta. He held this responsibility between 2008 and 2014 and attended the 2014 General Chapter during which he was appointed to his present position to support Brother Superior as General Councillor with special responsibility for our Region of Europe and the Mediterranean (RELEM).
