Last week, the 24th Congress of ASSEDIL took place in Rome, attended by nearly 90 Lasallians from our RELEM region. General Councilor Joel Palud delivered the opening speech, while Generalsuperior Br. Armin Luistro addressed the participants in a brief welcome visit, emphasizing the great responsibility of the directors for the future of the Institute. The event offered insightful and interesting lectures, discussions, and workshops on the topic of “Lasallian Identity and Leadership”. The conference was a great success, bringing together people who discussed the future of the Lasallian heritage, their works, and their role in shaping society. Highlights of the program included visits to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Collegio S. Guiseppe – Instituto De Merode on Piazza di Spagna. The four-day conference was filled with a very friendly and familial atmosphere. The next ASSEDIL Congress will take place in Istanbul in 2024.
