Community prayer – Belgium South
The representatives of Belgium South animated the moment of prayer at the beginning of the second day of the week of formation for directors organised jointly by RELEM and ASSEDIL. A lively song invited us to move our hearts and hands.
Lasallian Identity: Faith, Service and Community
Br. Paco CHIVA
Work in groups – Sharing of work by groups
Brother Paco Chiva asks us a question: “If Saint-Jean Baptiste de Lasalle ever walked into our room, what would surprise him? Reflection on Lasallian identity today.
Paco Chiva, Auxiliary Visitor of the ARLEP District, who invited us, in a creative and interesting way, to reflect on “Leadership that fosters Lasallian identity, Service, Fraternity and faith” and “Fostering identity through fraternity and Intentional Communities”.
Brother Paco continues to present the second part of his talk, on the identity and the favoring of the Intentional Communities, so necessary to continue to work in the mission and to sustain the educational works. Let us not forget that the Founder was characterized precisely by the creation of communities that could ensure the mission and its stability throughout France… and we are very proud of this 300 years later.
How do the projects of solidarity in a Lasallian centre give meaning to the educational work?
Presentation of Scampia by Br. Enrico MULLER
Brother Enrico Muller, from the District of Italy, presented to the directors the experience of solidarity lived in the reality of Scampia in Naples. For 18 years, this work has been present in a troubled neighbourhood in the hands of the Neapolitan mafia. La Salle opts directly for an active presence in a shanty town where it sows hope for improving the world from the grass roots up.
Presentation of Lasallian Stories of Solidarity
Mrs. Laura BALLERINI and Mrs. Eleonora
MUNARETTO
La Salle Foundation team
After the surprising and motivating talk by Brother Enrico on the reality of Scampia, we listened attentively to the Lasallian experience of Solidarity in the Third and Fourth World, given by Laura Ballerini and Eleonora Munaretto from the “La Salle Foundation Office”, who with a fun dynamic of the “Lasallian memory game”, managed to make the directors aware of the different activities related to solidarity which are carried out under the broad umbrella of the La Salle Foundation.
